Orange County Needs a Museum of Indigenous CULTURE and Natural History

For decades, Orange County leaders have recognized the need for a Museum of Indigenous Culture and Natural History, and we have the goods to fill one: Thousands of artifacts and millions of world-class fossils have been excavated in our county! But they are all stored away where no one can enjoy them – or on loan to museums in other counties. We are the only county in Southern California without our own natural history museum.

Great Park is the Best Place for the Museum.

Irvine prides itself on strong educational opportunities and being a great place to raise families. Including a cultural and natural history museum in the Great Park’s Cultural Terrace reflects those priorities. In addition, building a Museum of Indigenous Culture and Natural History would honor the Tribal people who have lived here since time immemorial.

TELL THE IRVINE CITY COUNCIL TODAY: GREAT PARK NEEDS A GREAT MUSEUM

The Orange County Museum Coalition is dedicated to the Initiative to build a world class Museum of Indigenous Culture and Natural History at the Great Park of Irvine.  Would you like to be a part of this legacy project? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to build a world class facility to house the many fossils, artifacts and exhibits of this region. An opportunity to build a national destination, a place of advanced research, study and education combined with a public facility which will be home to living Indigenous Culture, relevant Exhibits, and Community Events.

Whether you are a student, a tribal member, a design specialist, a science or educational professional or just someone who realizes what an incredible project like this will be, we welcome your support and your participation! Contact us here!
